About DuPage Family Wellness

We at DuPage Family Wellness know that every human body is different, and that there is no "one size fits all" approach to health. We promise to treat every patient as an individual, and come up with the best plan that we can to get you feeling your best and enjoying life as quickly as possible.

This treatment plan could involve many different components.

  • If we find joints that aren't moving properly, we will mobilize them.
  • If we find muscles that are too tight, or nerves that are entrapped, we will use ART to release them.
  • If we find muscles that are weak, we will give you exercises to strengthen them.

In addition to these musculoskeletal treatments, we understand that in order for your body to heal and perform at its best, you have to put in the right ingredients.  In today‚Äôs world, stress, fast food, little sleep, working long hours and sitting at a desk all day are everyday occurrences.  Our goal is to help you understand what your body needs and help you achieve healing through looking at factors like stress, sleep, environment, posture, movement and food.

We have seen time and time again how addressing these factors have led to health optimization and we are so excited to begin working with you wherever you are on your journey to heal your body.

DuPage Family Wellness is a whole body healing center. We want to help you to feel better and find the root cause of your symptoms.

Meet Dr. Jamie Tripp Thomure

Dr Jamie Tripp Thomure

Dr. Jamie Tripp Thomure became a chiropractor so she could help people.

During her undergraduate studies at University of Illinois, she knew she wanted to be in a medical field.  After interning with several chiropractors and seeing first hand how much patients were being helped, she chose chiropractic.  It gives her the tools to make people feel better without resorting to invasive procedures such as surgery.

Dr. Thomure has been a lifelong athlete, so helping people in their athletic endeavors is important to her. She obtained her Master's degree in Sports, Science, and Rehab, and became a full body certified provider of Active Release Techniques (ART). This gives her techniques to help both the serious athlete and the weekend warrior get back to their training as quickly as possible at perform at their optimal level. It's also a great tool to help relieve aches, pains, and repetitive injuries of the general population.

Nutrition is another interest of Dr. Thomure. For the past 10 years she has taken continuing education, attended seminars, and researched nutrition topics. She has learned that teaching patients to eat nutritious foods not only helps them heal better and faster, as it combats the gradual increase in weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, and other conditions that are so common today. She is excited to be able to bring on Joelle Kurczodyna, a Nutritional Therapy Practicioner, to the practice to help keep as many people as possible from falling into the fast food and sedentary lifestyle that much of our country has adopted.

Dr. Thomure grew up in Warrenville, IL and graduated from Wheaton Warrenville South High School. She played volleyball, and was a pitcher on the softball team. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, baby daughter, friends, and being outside and playing yard games.

Meet Joelle Kurczodyna, NTP

Joelle has aways been passionate about eating and exercise. Starting when she was about 16, she began following what she thought was a "good, healthy diet". She ate low fat foods, and did not exceed the recommended portion size. At the same time, she started running, joined the cross country team, and was soon training for marathons.  Too much of what she initially thought was a good thing evolved into disordered eating and over exercising that took a huge toll on her body, both physically and emotionally.

It was her own health issues that re-ignited her study of nutrition and led to her discovery of functional medicine. Her goal was to get pregnant and have a healthy child but she realized that she was hardly able to support her own body, let alone another human being. First she changed her diet to "eat real food". She stopped running, but kept moving by walking and doing low impact exercises. These lifestyle changes had profound results. For the first time in years, she wanted to be around people again, she smiled and laughed more, and after about a decade without having a natural monthly cycle, that returned too.

After maintaining these changes for two years, her body had made significant progress, but she knew she still had not achieved optimal health. She had run out of resources. She decided to pursue certification as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) through the Nutritional Therapy Association. In the NTP program, Joelle learned how the systems of the body work and techniques to use foods and supplementation to restore health. These methods filled in the final missing pieces for her own health. In fact, she is now the mother of a healthy baby girl.

Joelle is excited to join DuPage Family Wellness to use the passion and knowledge that she has gained over the last several years to help you achieve your goals.

Joelle is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Food Science & Human Nutrition (BS-FSHN) from the University of Illinois. When she is not researching nutrition or cooking, she loves hanging out with her husband and puppy and attempting to be an urban farmer with backyard chickens and bees.
